Love You Collection

Hello everyone!!! I hope that you have all enjoyed the preview of the new Daisy Bucket products! The new collections all look so awesome and the new rub-ons are a must have!!! I am sure that you are all anxiously waiting to get your hands on some of these new yummy releases!!!

In the meantime, I've created this fun layout with the Love You collection. Even tough this is a some what romantic collection, I’ve used to create this layout of my daughter and how she’s allergic to bug bites. The poor girl breaks out whenever she gets a bite.

For this layout I used papers from the Love You collection, Clearly Petite stamps and Velvet elements.

here's a fun little card to wish you a happy 4th of july!!!

this card features papers from the ROCK STAR line.

edges of card and printed papers and raw chipboard letters
have been tinted using charcoal chalk ink.
stitching lines on letters and "doodled" swirls were done with a black pen.
vintage buttons were tied with waxed linen twine.

hope you have a great day that's full of parades, hot dogs and fireworks!

Have you made anything for the sweet mother's in your life yet?? This year I made them these little refrigerator magnets....they measure about 4 inches in diameter and I just love how they turned out!! I used some of my leftover chipboard paper (the kind you get to protect 12x12 paper when it ships) to cut out the circles and then decorated them to my hearts content. I used Daisy Bucket Designs petite stamps for the sentiment and for the various swirls, vine, and leaf accents. I also used Daisy Bucket Paper....for this one I used the Summer Cottage line:

Owl Love you...4 Ever + Ever

An anniversary card created using Under The Boardwalk patterned paper, Velvet Elements in Lily pad and Corduroy, and Clearly Petite (mini alphabet) Stamps.

Tip: one of the techniques shown here is stamping an image on different colors of PP (note the leaves on the branch) they have been stamped with black ink, cut from the various green PP's in the boardwalk line, and attached to the branch using pop dots to add dimension. This technique can be used on most line stamps and will add quick color and dimension to your project. Try it with some of the Clearly Petite flower stamps!

This layout was created with papers from the Playlist collection, velvet elements flowers and stamp element Fancy Flourish. Even though this paper line is more "boyish", I have used it to create 3 "girly" layouts, this proves how versatile this paper line really is.

Have you ladies tried used this line yet?? If not you really should!! The colors are so playful and fun and perfect for scrapbooking just about anything...It is definitely one of my favorite lines!! For this layout I cut out the journaling spot from the Now Playing sheet of paper and attached it with pop dots for some added dimension on my page.

Booth set up, amazing how much little pieces and details it takes to make it what it is. Tanya is in the background getting all the rep kits together. All the hooks made it up on the wall and fit perfectly for the amount of stamps and accessories we had. The girls all helps us glue the paper to the walls and Kay made sure they were just so on the walls! Everyone worked so hard and it shows!

Just minutes before the opening. Sorry Melinda your eyes are closed, but I know this picture is on several camera's. Hopefully we have a good one!

First day was great. Lots of great comments and orders. Designers.... they are loving your layouts and projects. Thanks for all the hardwork!

QUICK update

Sorry no pictures, but I am going to just let everyone know we are doing great, the booth is almost completly set up. Some finishing touches this morning. I am excited to see how we do today our first day of the show goes.
Took 4 hours to unwind in Disney Land. Even called Jason and warned him I was going phoneless. Didn't want to worry about it and thought I could have a few hours unconnected. Had a blast!
More to come, but we have to head out now. Pictures tonight!

i don't know about where you are at - wherever it is it is probably worse there than it is here LOL! - but every year around rodeo time, the weather here in san antonio, texas takes a turn for the WORSE! cold, wet, damp, drizzly - just YUCKY! i know, i know... no sympathy for me from those of you who are scraping snow and ice off everything!
anyway, i start to get the winter blues about this time of year - what i wouldn't give to see a BRIGHT BLUE texas sky instead of the grey ones that have been overhead lately! so to pull myself out of the winter doldrums; i worked on scrapping some SUNSHINY SUMMER pics!
here is a layout of my 2 boys playing with the hose and chasing frogs - hope it inspires you to scrap something SUMMERY!
i used papers from the ALL WOUND UP line - fresh and fun and perfect for chasing away the BLUES!

These pictures were taken last summer in Wakefield Quebec, we came across this bridge which was hidden at the end of a narrow street, I could not believe my luck.

Altered Wooden Dominoes

Need some last minute ornaments? Some cute gift tags?

I found these great 1"X 2" wooden dominoes in the $1 spot at Target recently. (you can also find similar size wooden items at most craft stores) With some Wrapped Wishes paper scraps, Ribbon Elements and Clearly Petite Stamps you can easily make a dozen or so in very short time.

Here are some simple instructions to make your own:

Sand and cover each Domino face with a light layer of decoupage medium, cover with a pattern paper scrap and brush medium over the paper to seal. (set aside to dry while assembling the next one.)

When dry, trim away excess paper from sides of domino. Sand if you like, and ink edges. (*Note that mine have been double inked in contrasting colors.)

Using an ink pad suitable for smooth surfaces; ink and stamp using Happy Holidays Clearly Petite Sentiment Stamps

Mask off the sentiment using a Post-It (this part is optional, Learn how to mask HERE) and stamp the snowflakes and Dainty Swirl using Clearly Petite Image Stamps

At this point you can varnish or apply a final coat of decoupage medium to seal the piece. (* again this is optional, if you heat set your ink it should be fine.)

apply liquid glue to edge of domino and roll edge in fine glitter.

Embellish front with rhinestones, sequins or glitter glue of your choice.

Attach a ribbon loop to back using a strong dry adhesive.

And VOILA!

Paper Flowers...

i used ribbon elements paper ribbon to create the flower on this card ...

the first step is to use a small square of double sided tape to adhere 2 pieces of ribbon together, forming an "X"...

next, tear the ends of the ribbons into small strips...

then, using a pair of scissors, curl each strip; work carefully so you don't tear them!

finally, spread out and arrange curls, and use a pop dot to add a button at the center

i also used ribbon elements paper ribbon to add the leaves and "stem" of the flower

the sentiment was stamped using clearly petite alpha stamps

I had fun creating Christmas decorations with the Ribbon Elements from Daisy Bucket.

To start, I created a candy jar with paper from the Garden Gate collection and I embelished it with Paper Elements Ribbon.

I also created Christmas ornaments with rub-ons and Ribbon Elements.

These would make wonderful gifts for your child's teacher, friends and family members.

I hope that my projects have inspired you to create some projects for the Holiday Season.

We have been keeping an eye out for layouts that are created with Daisy Bucket products.

I've recently came across this layout by Julie Bond from Sept-Iles (Québec, Canada) and I just had to share it with you. I love how Julie used the Whimsical Ladies paper line to create a warm and cozy layout. Julie has also take the time to cut out the flower pattern from the pattern paper to create beautiful embellishments. Julie also accented her layout with "fake" snow which tied in perfectly with her title "Chatleur Hivernal" - which translates to "a cat's warmth in winter". Beautifully done Julie!

Make sure to keep on uploading your Daisy Bucket creations to blogs and galleries. You never know when we could approach you to feature your layout on the Daisy Bucket blog.

Wrapped Wishes Gift Card Bucket!

What a great way to say Happy Holidays to a special person than with a gift card (or other small sized gift) presented in a beautiful way! I had so much fun working with these awesome papers from the Wrapped Wishes collection by Daisy Bucket. I loved the nontraditional Christmas colors, the super cool paper texture and the fun designs.

In fact, this month I got doubly lucky, because I received these amazing papers and fun embellishments in an amazing kit... from http://www.scrapdango.com/ It's their December kit, you should check it out!

I made this gift card holder, "a bucket of fun", with the papers, ribbons and tag elements! I added a little bling, some cool glittery letter stickers and a star and here is the finished product.

But the most fun part of all was working with the Daisy Bucket RIBBON ELEMENTS! http://www.daisybucket.com/ribbonelements.html

I love working with this paper ribbon, so versatile and different from any other product out there. Here are the ribbons in all of their shredded and curled glory.

I cut one yard lengths of pink, green and off white, pulled them apart into skinny pieces, then curled them with a pair of scissors. They make an festive and colorful filling for the inside of my bucket.

AND, the ribbons also make a fun embellishment to add to the handle... with a star hanging from them.

Another way to use Daisy Bucket Designs Ribbon Elements

For this layout I cut two, 9" strips of the bright green ribbon Elements and separated them into 3 equal sized parts. I then took my 1/8" hole punch and punched a bunch of holes around the smaller blue paper (two holes 1/8" apart - every inch or so)...I then took the ribbon strips and wove them through the holes in the paper. I was rather surprised at how easily they threaded through the paper...I really love the versatility that these ribbon elements have to offer.....What can you make with them??

Daisy Bucket Ribbon Elements

I thought I would share with you some techniques to creating original layouts with the Daisy Bucket Ribbon Elements. These "paper" ribbon offer so many different options the list is endless, to name a few techniques you can stamp on the ribbon, curl the ribbon with a paper piercer/scissors, shred the ribbon with scissors, even sew the ribbon with a sewing machine.

On the layout below that I created, I used papers from the Magical Moments Collection, I also used Paper Elements and Mini Classic Alphabet Stamps.

I used the Mini Classic Stamp, to stamp some journaling to the ribbon.

I also used my scissors to curl and shred the ribbon.
To make my ribbon curl even more, I used a moist cloth to slighty wet the paper ribbon and I curled it around my paper piercer and I let it dry that way.

I love the end effect! The Paper Elements Ribbon adds so much dimension to a layout. I hope that you will have fun trying these fun and fast techniques! I can not wait to see your creations!

Not Your Usual Ribbons

What do you usually do with your gift tags - those small and cute cards and tags placed on top of your presents? I have to admit I keep those cards every year and I try to include them in my layouts - after all they're mementos to keep and cherish!

Here's what I did: I created a slit/pocket under the small presents so I can insert the gift cards. To give the presents a 3D look, I used foam squares to adhere them. And since the overall theme of this layout is all about gifts, I thought of "wrapping small presents" too with small pieces of paper and tying the presents with ribbons! I thought of using the paper line's name as my title too.

I used the Wrapped Wishes Collection, Ribbon Elements and Clearly Petite Alpha and Image Stamps to create this layout.

The ribbons are so versatile, I was able to cut them into strips - quilled, folded and curled them up! They're like "paper" so it wasn't hard to adhere. The second and last present from the left have "quilled" ribbons on them! While the third and the sixth presents have curled ribbons.

I can't wait to see what you can create using the DBD Ribbons! Happy scrapping!

Southern Belle Collection

I recently created this layout using papers from the Southern Belle Collection. I love the muted pink, orange and brown tones of this collection. They were the perfect accent to these pictures of my daughter Danika and our dog Willow. I've also highlighted this layout with Daisy Bucket stamps; Flourish Bracket, Dainty Swirl, Brush Star Small Outline and Clearly Petite Stamps.

Wrapped Wishes Altered Tin

Here is a little project I just finished for our local Festival of Trees annual charity event. The "tree" that this present will be going inside of is just adorable! Keep watching for more pictures of that from Cassandra! For my contribution, I altered a couple of tin boxes and placed some yummy French soaps inside.
To make the tins:

1. Cut paper to size to fit around the side and on top.
2. Paint all areas which will not be covered by the paper.
3. Sand the painted areas to distress.
4. Adhere paper to tin.
5. Place gift inside.
6. Paint and add glitter to chipboard snowflake (Cosmo Cricket) and stamp sentiment on to tag.
7. Tie it all up!

a little bit of parchment paper and twine secure the soaps inside of their boxes.

That's it! So fun and easy to make :)

Hi Everyone!
Just a quick post to say Hi!

I have been having some fun traveling and meeting papercrafters all over!
A few weeks ago we started in Canada and taught at Open Page Wholesalers. It was an amazing trip, saw Niagara Falls, did some touring, stopped and visited a couple of stores and really enjoyed a few days away.
I then visited Scatter Joy in Sioux Falls, South Dakato and taught 3 classes to some amazing card makers. I loved meeting everyone and Thanks so much for the card for Kenzi. She was so excited and felt very special! ( I missed a play she was in, while gone and they sent her a card)

Last week I was able to teach about 600 women at a convention in Hot Springs Arkansas. What an incredible event to have so many people with one passion in one room. I loved meeting everyone and introducing them to Daisy Bucket.

It has been a great experience meeting so many people around the country and in Canada and sharing Daisy Bucket.

Well we are off to Anaheim for a weekend away, had a bit of a delay (surprise, surprise) so had a few moments to post. Last trip fo the year.

Sweet Mareballa Make and Take

I’ve recently created an altered frame album, to put on my desk at work.

To create this album I used 3 Really Big Chips by Bazzill, but you can use any kind of chipboard or sturdy sheets of cardboard. I tied the chipboard together with Daisy Bucket ribbon.

Here is my project;

You can also see a close up of the project here.

If you wish to create this project, here are the step by step instructions;

1) Ink all the edges of the chipboard;
2) Trace shape of chipboard on desired pattern paper or cardstock. Cut out traced paper.

3) Glue pattern paper to chipboard and sand the edges to give a smooth finish. You can also ink the edges of the paper once you are done sanding.

4) Pierce 2 wholes on the edges of the chipboard. These wholes will tie the sheets of chipboard together. 5) Add embellishments;

6) Cut ribbons to tie sheets/frames together. My pieces of ribbon were 5inches long; this length gave me plenty of ribbon to work with. I also use a moist wash cloth to wet the ribbon and then I twirled it around a paper piercer to give it a curled effect.

You final product should be able to stand alone on a flat surface.

What a great surprise to see all the cards yesterday! Thanks for all the Birthday wishes from all of my friends.

I had a fun evening shopping with Jason as we prep for a week long trip to Canada where I will be teaching at Open Page Wholesalers and hopefully sneaking in a visit to a couple of stores that carry Daisy Bucket Designs. So excited to see Niagara Falls too!

I was surprised with dinner at Olive Garden with friends and family! We laughed and enjoyed the food & the night. Had great waiters that paid all sorts of attention to us! I am sure they enjoyed us too! Thanks so much for making a great birthday everyone. I really enjoyed it!

This card was created using the Bloomin' Paisleys line. To make the curls on the right side of the card, simply cut a strip of paper approximately 1 1/2 inches wide and then snip 1/4 inch slits all down one edge of the strip (being careful not to cut all the way through). Then roll the individual sections over a round paintbrush or thin pencil to curl. Voila! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy (as my five year old daughter likes to say LOL!)

What a Fun and Crazy month!

The kids are back in school, getting used to our new routines! The air is getting cooler for us in Oregon in the mornings and evenings. About ready for fall to arrive. Taking lots of pictures and looking forward to spending this weekend cropping with friends this weekend.

We have been shipping like crazy this month and attending a couple of events to showcase Daisy Bucket Designs. The response has been amazing to our products! Thanks to everyone who has ordered!

We ran out of some items, but we now have 90% of our paper products back in stock. Our stamps are now here and are in the process of packaging and will be shipping over the next couple of weeks. Super excited for everyone to get them! We will update you on ribbons as soon as we have a final date. Thanks for being patient everyone!

What a crazy fun week we had! So glad we didn't deal with any travel issues on the way home. Arrived late last night and have been trying to focus at work today! So many emails to go thru and updates to get out to everyone. Please be patient this next week if we don't get to you right away.

The Evening Activities

Tonight we attended the keynote speaker at the show. After the last show.. we wondered if it would be worth it..... but it was!

We had the privlidge to hear from Genevieve Gorder from Trading Spaces!
She came on stage and first thing she did was get rid of the shoes....she was so fun!
In front of her was a whole counter of fun things she created with while she visited with us.
She loves working with natural elements from moss to cranberries. She even laughed with us about a certian moss covered wall from an episode of trading spaces.
She has a graphic design background and worked in a large ad agencies in New York. While there, MTV called her for a job and she has become the star she is today. We did find it sad to know that trading spaces just taped their final episode. However we were excited to hear she would be doing her own show and moving to HGTV!

We also met her husband who was a host on another TLC show "Junk Yard Wars"

The biggest news that made the crowd ahhhh was she will be having and little one in about 5 months! She was adorable and we loved the event.

Updates from the CHA summer!

The excitement of the show began with a parade of bagpipes!
A view of the booth where the new products were located. We loved having the table and chairs. It is a bit of tight fit, but was nice for our customers to have a place to sit.... we didn't have a chance to sit in them! We were busy all day!
These Clearly Petite Stamps are the biggest hit of the booth.

The whole view! We love how it turned out. We were told today that we had the cutest booth they had seen at the show. WOW what a compliment. Met lots of people and we are enjoying the event!

We Made it to Chicago.... Finally!

I am amazed that everytime we fly, we have issues. We left Portland ontime, came in late to Las Vegas had 12 minutes to connect to our next flight instead of the 45 we were supposed to have. We took off from Las Vegas but about 2/3 the way through the flight are told we will be landing in Kansas City Missouri for more fuel since Chicago is closed. We sit there for almost 2 hours! No food, can't get off the plane... but finally we take off for Chicago that is now open. We fly watching the lightening storm just a ways off in the distance almost all the way. We were supposed to arrive at 8:30pm and arrived at 2:00am! Had to be at the show at 8am. So very little sleep after we finally were checked in. Flight home will be better I am sure.

OK for the FUN stuff. We didn't need much sleep to set up the booth. It is amazing. We love the new pieces. Thanks Jason for building them. Thanks to the designers for the amazing work that is lining the shelves and walls of the booth. We will put pictures when it is all pretty online tomorrow.

This is one of the new displays for our new Clearly Petite Stamp Elements. Isn't it cute. On the other side is the ribbons in metal gutters just like at the store. You can also peak at the walls behind it. We will post pictures of the entire booth tomorrow! So loving it!

Ok we are off to finish our "hotelwork" and get some sleep. Have to be up at 5:30am.

WE ARE OFF!!!!

Our last day of work is coming to a close... and we are off to Chicago bright and early tomorrow. We will be traveling all day tomorrow. Wishing happy thoughts to the 2 in our group that don't like to fly!

On the 19th we will piece together 2 HUGE crates to create a fabulous booth! We have some new pieces and 2 tables and chairs! YEAH for the tired feet that will be walking the show. The show starts Friday... we will attempt to post daily about the show.

We are super excited for the show and are looking forward to the response to our new products.
We have over 150 new items. 4 New paper collections, Clearly Petite Stamps and Ribbon Elements.

Thanks to the Designers, the booth will look great and the gallery is starting to fill up. More is coming as soon as all of them get the products in their hands. Can't wait!
We look forward to meeting a couple of you at the show!

The store will be open, stop in and say Hi to Jason, Katherine & Kristine. They are moving around the salesfloor so it will be a fun surprise when we return! We have a few of the Daisy Bucket New papers that are for sale in the store. Stop in and get the first sets! More will be here August 1st.

WOW!
We were amazed at the response to our Design Team Call!
We had over 150 applicants. The work was so amazing that we had to add 6 new designers to our exsisting team instead of the 3 we had intended.
